Future Pilot!

Well, that's all she wrote.... There's no changing Caleb's mind. He's going to be a pilot.

This morning was about as amazing as they come for a 3-year-old boy who loves airplanes. Not only did Caleb get to go up in an airplane, he got to actually take the controls and fly. I can't describe how ecstatic I was for Caleb. It was like a dream come true for him.

I hadn't told him where we were going until just before we left. I just casually mentioned to him that he should probably put on his flight jacket, and when he asked why I just said that he might need it for when he flies in the airplane today. He didn't catch on right away to what I said, but it eventually hit him. Talk about excited!

We were flying for about an hour or so. Caleb seemed so focused on everything Tyler, the pilot, was doing. Caleb actually started to fall asleep toward the end of flight which totally cracked me up. We did some hard turns, dips, and touch & go's which Caleb loved of course.

I could not be more thankful for such a wonderful morning and for such wonderful people!

So Excited!!!!

My mom's close friend at church has a son who is a pilot. He heard about how much Caleb loves airplanes and offered to take us flying next Thursday. I'm keeping it a surprise until we're actually on our way to the airport just in case something changes.

Caleb is going to flip out! All he talks about is flying airplanes. I'm just so thankful for all the wonderful people we're connecting with here. I can't wait to post videos and pics.

Rockin Friday Night

I watched the kiddos Friday night so Chris and Lainee could have some alone time, and ended up enduring hours of Rockband fighting. (It really wasn't that bad.) However, there was one song, which I managed to get video of, where the cousins actually cooperated and got along. Avery, who is only 5 by the way, is awesome at the drums! As the video gets further along, you'll start to see Caleb get more into the song and start jumping around and dancing. He's not half bad at the drums either, but can't quite make it through a whole song yet. They're all so freakin adorable!

School update... I'm hanging in there. Passed my first test and am getting pretty good grades on my first papers. More tests and projects are coming up this week, so hopefully the trend will continue.

My kind of weather!

A few minutes before I needed to leave for work today, we started getting some hail and thunderstorms. So, I called work and said I'd be a few minutes late getting there. Thank God I did! I ended up leaving right after a tornado hit about two blocks away, right where I would've been driving through if I had left on time. My beloved Chuck-E-Cheese has a lot of damage, so Lainee and I need to find a new favorite spot to take the kiddos for lunch . :-)

There was still a bunch of nasty weather coming so my mom took Caleb over to Chris and Lainee's house just to be safe since they have a storm shelter. When I talked to my mom, she said Caleb and Avery were in the shelter, and Avery was actually scared and crying. Caleb was holding her telling her, "Don't be scared Avery. God is always with you, and He'll take care of you." Tissue anyone??? I love my boy!

Church Retreat Weekend

I went to my church's lady's retreat this weekend which was held at this beautiful Catholic School. My sister-in-law and I shared a room which was fun, especially being startled awake in the middle of the night by this crazy loud banging coming from the old pipes in the building. Even better was waking up to my pastor's wife singing "Climb Every Mountain" at the top of her lungs, which made me chuckle but didn't manage to actually get me out of bed. It was really such a sweet and spiritually building time. I just love and admire these women so much.

My dad, who has become affectionately know as "Crappa" now thanks to Caleb's pronunciation of grandpa, watched Caleb and took he and Landon to check out this really cool plane today at the little airport near us. Caleb is just so into planes, and basically anything else that flies. Caleb and Crappa are becoming two peas in a pod.

I guess grandpa stopped and got Caleb some onion rings.

Allergy Testing Trauma

I took Caleb in for allergy testing today which I knew wouldn't be fun. There was some serious crying going on, and Caleb cried some too. :-) My nerves were shot after being there for 2 hours and seeing my baby's arms all puffed up on both sides.

He didn't test positive for any food allergies, but tested positive for just about everything else. This explains the runny nose and cough that just seems to keep lingering or coming back. Looks like now I've got to take him in for an allergy shot once a week. No big deal really and at some point the doc said I can start giving the shots myself, or I'll just ask Auntie Lainee to do the honors.
