Race Day!

I had my first race today with our company's rowing team. We did ok: second place in the first and second races. We had a really crummy start in the first race, and I think we could've won if it weren't for that. Doesn't matter though cause it was so much fun! I'm really lovin this rowing thing.

My victory hug even though we didn't win. :-)

So hot out there today!

That's me in the second-to-last seat. #2 position.

Great Day!

Caleb's first day at his new preschool was great! I asked him how he liked his new school and he said, "It's the best school of my life!!" The teachers said he was wonderful. His last school was really good too, but this one seems a little bit more relaxed and his class is ALOT smaller. The teacher's assistant is a teenage boy with tons of energy, and Caleb really seemed to love him, so that's another big plus. I think I've found a good place for him to stay put for the next year, and then it'll be off to kindergarten. Crazy that it's only a year away....

Another fun first this week was Caleb's first experience with the ice cream man. We were sitting in the living room, and I heard the music. Caleb didn't know what it was, so I said we needed to go outside and check it out. He was amazed at all the different ice creams and settled on a tweety bird ice cream bar. Now we have a special spot for his ice cream truck money in case we hear it. :-)

Just a little update on the latest....

I've had quite a few folks asking about the latest stuff going on with me and Caleb, so here's an update:

Summer classes are in session. Boo!!! :-) I started back last week and it's going to be a ridiculous amount of work in a short period of time, but it is what it is. I don't think it's going to be anywhere near as stressful as my first semester was, and I'm thankful to be making progress. By this time next year I'll be about ready to start my practicum and then my internship. Most days it seems like it's going to be forever before I'm done, but I know I'll get there. I'm also working on getting my teaching license. It may come in handy.

I've joined a rowing team at work. I need a lot of practice, but am really loving it! Those that know me well know I'm happy doing anything on or in the water.

Caleb will be starting at a new preschool this coming week. It's a summer program 2 days a week that should be fun. He seems excited about it, plus it gives me a little bit of a breather and some time to do my school work. Finding time to do homework has been a struggle. I would not recommend being a full-time single mom, going to grad school full-time, and working part-time. It's nuts! If it were not for my family, I would not be able to keep this up.

Caleb is still taking gymnastics. I had to switch him from his all boy's class because of my schedule shift, so now he's in a class with all girls. He doesn't seem to mind though and has taken on the role of the leader. :-) Not a shocker. The kid is seriously getting ripped. His stomach and arm muscles are showing definition. I love it.

I think that's about all the major stuff. For the more personal questions, you'll need to call me. :-)

A beautiful night for flying......

Yes, we got to go flying again today! Our pilot friend will only be around for about another year before he's off flying missions somewhere else, so we're taking advantage of every chance we get to go up. Caleb has no clue how lucky he is.

We also got an added bonus on our walk back to the car after our flight. We went past a medical helicopter so I asked the guys if it would be ok for Caleb to take a look at it. One of the paramedics was so sweet to Caleb and let him sit inside the helicopter and showed him everything. Sorry, I didn't snap any pictures of that.

Pre-Flight checks....

How cool is this???

So Excited!!!
